Kuban (Russia) has started building basalt insulation and basalt substrate production facilities

New production facilities for manufacturing basalt insulation and basalt substrate for agricultural needs with a capacity of 80 thousand tons per year will be built in Tikhoretsk district of Krasnodar region (Kuban). The investor of the project is the Plant of Heat-insulating Materials. The basalt insulation will be manufactured under the brand name Hotrock, as reported by the company.

The management has not yet decided which type of production is a priority for the company – either basalt insulation for the construction purposes or basalt substrate produced on the basis of basalt insulation and used for vegetable cultivation.

Basalt substrate is in high demand in the Krasnodar region engaged in vegetables cultivation but the bulk of the substrate is currently imported. Nowadays the Kuban has about 191 hectares of modern greenhouses, informs golos-kubani.ru.

The new plant is to be located on the basis of the production infrastructure of the failed JSC “Winery Tikhoretsky” enterprise, the company’s property has been sold at auction.

The investor plans to invest 1.5 billion rubles in the project to be completed by 2018. In the meantime, the existing buildings are being renovated. The foundation of the building where the furnaces of the polymerization plant are planned to be allocated is now being strengthened.

It is expected that the new production facilities will create about 200 new jobs.
