Algeria to build the first in Africa CBF plant

Algerian-based Basalt Algeria is the first company in Africa to start the manufacture of continuous basalt fiber and reinforced composites products.

Statim Chronometer Inc. (Statim Chrono., Montreal, Quebec, Canada) will help construct the plant that will have an estimated capacity of 3,000 tons/year.

According to Youness Salhi, the president of Basalt Algeria: “The company will have its footprint in the world of Basalt and composites materials and will raise awareness for using a green sustainable composites product such as fiber and bar reinforcement made from Basalt”.
