Experiment report: the basic properties of cement systems with three types of basalt fibers

The basic properties of cement systems reinforced with three types of basalt fibers were investigated in comparison to the system without fibers and two systems reinforced with two types of alkali-resistant glass fiber.

The following experiments have been conducted:

  • three point bend test
  • axial compression

Exposure of samples prior to testing was 14 days. The length of chopped basalt fiber was 6.4 mm. For reference, two types of alkali-resistant glass fiber (AR-glass) were used. The volume fraction of AR-glass coincided with that of basalt fiber.
