Alexander Budchenko, TekhnoNIKOL Business Development Director in the area of “Mineral Insulation” states, that fire behavior of laminated insulation is affected by adhesives used to attach rolled material to the surface of mineral wool. Due to the fixation of glass veil to the basalt mat with the same binder that used in the process of stone wool manufacture, the finished board has received the group of combustibility “NC” (non-combustible).
The novel material has other advantages, specifically, increased indices of stiffness and resistance to point loads. In addition, it saves such properties of stone wool as low thermal conductivity, water vapor permeability etc. For this reason, it will be primarily in demand in such areas of construction and shipbuilding that specify high requirements to combustibility and strength of the insulation.
