Basalt insulation factory in Akmola (Kazakhstan) to be commissioned this summer

Basalt insulation factory in the Akmola region is currently under construction by Politerm LLP. The factory will produce facade and roof insulating materials, pipelines and machinery insulation, and sandwich panels.

The company’s management stresses that after putting into operation, this production facility will be the only one in Kazakhstan to produce high quality stone wool slabs.

Zh. Mukhametzhan, the General Director of Politerm LLP, says that Kazakhstan producers of mineral wool sandwich panels currently use imported slabs. After commissioning, Akmola factory will be able to supply the market with as much as 34 thousand tons of locally produced high quality basalt slabs.

The factory is expected to be commissioned this month. Also, basalt fiber and composites plant “Basalt-NPA” LLC is scheduled to be put into operation in the Akmola region this year. It has long been known that Kazakhstan possesses rich basalt deposits with the potential not fully utilized. One option to develop the composite industry is the attraction of foreign investors to the country.
