Russia’s Oryol region plans to establish continuous basalt fiber plant

A continuous basalt fiber and composites plant will be built in the city of Mtsensk.

The agreement on cooperation was concluded between the Oryol authorities represented by Dmitry Butusov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Oryol region for the agro-industrial complex and El Sayhan LLC, represented by Evgeniy Aniskin, the Technical Director. The signing ceremony took place in Moscow during the Russian agro-industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn”.

The project provides for the construction of the continuous basalt fiber plant with a capacity of 5 thousand tons per year. This plant will also produce composite materials and products based on continuous basalt fiber.

According to the official data, the parties are going to implement the project in 2017 – 2018 with a total amount of investments of 2 billion rubles.
