GS4C srl, with its project of enriched basalt fiber based eco-yacht, is among the 30 finalists of the most prestigious award in the composites world.

According to JEC World organizers, all 30 finalists’ files have already been submitted to the International Jury. These projects will also be available for public voting via the event website and the JEC app for smartphones.

Loop650 yacht was nominated for JEC Innovation Award in the Sustainability section, this fact itself proves the importance of the company efforts.
“This is for us a massively rewarding industry recognition of all the work we are doing to support and foster a transition toward circular economy for the composite industry,” says Enrico Benco, CEO and co-founder of GS4C srl.

The winners will be announced at the end of the 2nd day of JEC World 2018, which will be held on March 6-8. You can vote now on the official page of the event.

Developed by the Italy-based startup GS4C srl, the project has the aim to demonstrate that modern technologies can be both highly efficient and sustainable, allowing zero-landfill cradle-to-cradle composite manufacturing process.

Promotion of sustainable and recyclable solutions, and also research in this field, have become the company mission, commented Enrico Benco in his interview. As a structural material for developing prototypes, basalt fiber was chosen the best option.

The participants of the 2nd International Basalt Forum learned about developing a new generation of “green” composites and technologies to manufacture them from the brilliant presentation made by Enrico.
