Basalt fiber composites for pipe manufacture was a focus of discussion at the company’s exhibition stand. Polyplastic’s specialists believe that basalt fiber reinforced polypropylene pipes can compete not only with those made of steel but also with polymer pipes.
Firstly, it refers to laying pipelines in corrosive media, places exposed to electromagnetic effect, and also to both high temperature and high pressure. According to the company, these benefits of basalt plastics will ensure them the market success in the future.
Last year Aquatherm saw Wavin Ekoplastik’s basalt pipe Fiber Basalt OXY produced with a basalt fiber reinforced PP-RCT polypropylene inner layer and an oxygen barrier.
