During the trade show Galen showcased novel basalt plastic based products: ROCKBAR that is a composite rebar of the second generation with a modulus of elasticity 60 GPa, new types of wall ties for three layered wall panels and new types of composite meshes made of basalt plastic rods with advanced physic and mechanical properties.
The Precast Show is the largest trade show in the North America for pre-cast concrete products and manufacturing technologies. This year the show was held in the city of Denver, Colorado, and brought together over 4000 industry professionals. Along with its American subsidiary Galen Panamerica, Galen has taken part in The Precast Show for the second consecutive year. But this year’ trade show was a big success for the company.
“We have concluded two distribution agreements and three agreements for the development of novel basalt plastic based products,” comments Egor Litvinov, Development Director for Galen and Managing Director for Galen Panamerica .
Galen was the only Russian company but it was not the only to have demonstrated composite materials. A number of companies from the USA, Canada, and Germany also showcased their products. A transition to the non-conventional concrete reinforcement types is a strong industry trend, which is supported by the updated regulatory base and specialized associations: ACMA, AASHTO, NCPA etc.
