Basalt Centre and Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant agreed to cooperate

On May 25th, during the 11th International Helicopter Industry Exhibition HeliRussia 2018, JSC Basalt Center R&D and Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant (Russian Helicopters holding) signed a cooperation agreement.

Basalt Centre and Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant agreed to cooperateThe companies agreed to cooperate in research and development (R & D): perspective development and manufacture of lightweight, highly responsible basalt composite elements for both the civil sector and the military-industrial complex.

Senior management officials held a business meeting on board the latest Mi-171A2 medium-class multipurpose helicopter, which the plant developed on the basis of a legendary Mi-8 helicopter, using advanced technical solutions

The helicopter turned into a venue for concluding an agreement, is the first serial product produced by U-UAZ for UTair-Helicopter Services and solemnly delivered to the customer on May 24.

The parties discussed the advantages of innovations implemented in the Mi-171A2 design that meet the latest safety and quality requirements, and shared views on the prospects of basalt composite materials applied in the aircraft and helicopter engineering and the introduction of such solutions in the military-industrial complex.

I regard the agreement signed by Basalt Center and U-UAZ as a strategic step towards further development of both an innovative product, namely basalt fiber composites, and the market as a whole. What is more, we will be happy to leverage the partnership with a leader of the Russian helicopter engineering to make a contribution to the domestic aviation development, and to give momentum to the innovative construction materials market and advanced technological solutions.

– said Aleksey Azarevich, the General Director of JSC Basalt Center R&D.
