LOMOLD manufactures long-fibre thermoplastic granules using a proprietary pultrusion process. These granules are generally 11 or 25 mm in length and contain glass fiber strands of the same length as the granule.
Polypropylene or nylon can be selected based on the final application, while glass fiber content can be customized to anywhere between 20 to 50%.
In the pultrusion process, individual glass filaments are separated, coated with polymer and recombined into strings that are then cut into granules.
LOMOLD markets its long fibre materials under the brand name LOMOTEX for use in the automotive and engineering markets. LOMOLD also uses the material in the production of its award-winning pallets.
