Gadgets and Gizmos – A vintage hand-operated small- coil winding machine (SOLD)

A description of an interesting coil winding device, basic structure and function. No manufacture date available but suspected to be significantly old and so potentially quite collectible. Apologies for less than stellar resolution from the rather inexpensive camera being used – possibly the background color has affected the auto focus adversely in this video. Hopefully, still enough is shown to explain the workings.

Necessary rock studies of the gabbro and andesite basalt groups for the suitability as the raw material base for the production of continuous basalt fiber (CBF). A unique technique including laboratory melting and pilot-industrial melting at the high-tech equipment.

Currently this is available for sale to an interested party. Sensible offers, and it would go to a highest bidder, as this is something unlikely to easily be found again. Be good to find it a good home. Shipping of course would be a bit pricey unless collected in W PA, seeing as all up weight just over 20 lbs. If no one wants it, it will still remain an enjoyable possession even if little used now.
10/30/13 – now sold – to a museum in Netherlands where they restore old radios etc and collect vintage stuff – glad it found a new home.
