“Reducing weight whilst maintaining strength in very specific areas is critical to the performance of the KING driver. Using TeXtreme in the crown reduced its total weight by 20% which a significant amount of weight that has been relocated to make the club head much more efficient at impact,” said Mike Yagley, Director Innovation & Research, Cobra Golf.
According to Oxeon, to make the crown lighter Cobra Golf added TeXtreme, which allows for more weight to be repositioned. By making a lighter, stronger crown that reduces the weight so it can be redistributed to the correct areas of the club head will make it deliver better mass properties. Thus longer, straighter shots every time. It explains that this means more distance through higher launch, less spin and more ball speed.
“The KING Driver represents Cobra’s finest technology without compromise. Created with premium materials and state-of-the-art technology, the KING driver is our longest and straightest driver we’ve ever created,” said Bob Philion, President & CEO Cobra Puma Golf.
“TeXtreme is becoming the new standard carbon fibre reinforcement for high-end applications where low weight and performance is key. We’re proud to be a part of and help products to be in the front of innovation,” says Henrik Blycker, CEO of Oxeon.
“We believe this driver utilises the best technology and innovation that Cobra Golf has ever seen, we are confident that with Cobra KING we have a driver that truly fit for a king,” said Philion.
