Pioneer in-car speakers with basalt composite cone  – among the best of 2015

The Pioneer D series of auto speakers got to the top ten of the best speakers of 2015, according to the site Poisk-Auto. The specific feature of the D series is the Aramid/Basalt fiber cone.

Necessary rock studies of the gabbro and andesite basalt groups for the suitability as the raw material base for the production of continuous basalt fiber (CBF). A unique technique including laboratory melting and pilot-industrial melting at the high-tech equipment.

The experts assert that the speakers have wide frequency ranges which allow them to place TS-D6902R and TS-D1602R on  par with the best car audio solutions on the market.

Pioneer D series is not the only one that contains basalt fiber in the cone. Mid-market E series uses a polypropylene matrix composite reinforced with Aramid/Basalt fiber. The combination of aramid stiffness with temperature stability and viscosity of melted basalt provide unique features for the speaker.

The search for new materials and technical solutions is a necessary condition to achieve “Smooth and Open” sound quality that the Pioneer designers strive to provide for the owners of Pioneer speakers.
