When you study at Sheffield, you will have access to a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities and expertise in the areas of polymer and composite synthesis, manufacture, characterisation and testing.

The main activity of Global Basalt Engineering LLC is creation of effective productions on release of continuous basalt fiber (СBF) with technologies of the last generation and composites on the basis of СBF (Basalt Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Composites as BFRP).

Our courses are taught through lectures, tutorials, seminars and dedicated laboratory based practical modules.

The wet lay-­up facilities allow us to fabricate a wide variety of small scale composite systems. The work surface is a slab of non­stick polyethylene with full extraction. Plus there are several curing, vacuum and furnace ovens as well as grinding and polishing facilities near­by.
