Physical and chemical properties of basaltic aluminosilicate glasses

A method for rapid assessment of the feasibility of basaltic systems for the manufacture of stone fibers is proposed on the basis of the data published in the literature and innovative material developed by the author.

Carrying out expert evaluations and updating business plans and feasibility studies of investment projects for the production of continuous basalt fiber, staple fiber and basalt composite products.

It is studied the nanostructuredness of the fiber surface, and it is determined the ratio of iron oxide forms in the volume of fibers by means of Moessbauer spectroscopy. Findings of nanostructuredness assessment can be used for optimizing the processes of basalt fiber manufacture.
