Alchemy Bicycle Co and Vartega Carbon Fiber Recycling enter into recycling agreement

Alchemy Bicycle Co, a Denver-based custom bicycle frame builder, and Vartega Carbon Fiber Recycling announced that they have entered into a joint recycling agreement which will commence immediately.

As part of the agreement, Alchemy will provide Vartega with its scrap carbon fiber for recycling in Vartega’s novel chemistry-based recycling process. This allows Alchemy to divert hundreds of pounds of scrap from landfill every year. Alchemy is also looking at ways to incorporate recycled carbon fiber into its bikes and find ways to incorporate it back into their supply chain.

“It is great to find a company that will take our relatively small amount of carbon fiber as most commercial recyclers work on a much larger scale. We have been looking for a way to divert our scraps from the landfill from the beginning and couldn’t be happier about partnering with Vartega. They really made it incredibly easy for us; there is absolutely no disruption on our end, which makes it a no-brainer.” — Lindsey Reese – Marketing Coordinator, Alchemy Bicycle Company

“We are very excited to work with Alchemy in recycling their carbon fiber manufacturing scrap. No matter how efficient their manufacturing process is, there are always scraps left over, so we are happy that Alchemy is as excited as we are to keep that material out of the landfill. Alchemy builds amazing bikes to enjoy the outdoors so it’s important to preserve our planet by not cluttering it with unnecessary waste.”
