Introduction to Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Composites In Infrastructure

For all of FRP composites strengths, versatility is its greatest asset creating infinite possible solutions to improve quality, provide safety, and increase performance.

Civil Infrastructure include the repair and replacement of civil infrastructure including buildings, roadsblockquote bridges, piling, etc. Advances  in  FRP  composites  have  led  to  structural  systems  that  allow  for  rapid  deployment  of  bridge  decks, stringers, beames, abutment  panels,  rebars,  dowel  bars  and posts and other highway structures.

There are hundreds of bridges worldwide that are utilizing composite technology for civil infrastructure including internal and external strengthening of structures and bridge deck replacement. Other  FRP  highway  structures  are  signpost,  signboard,  guardrail  system,  sound  barrier,  drainage  system  (pipe,  culvert), etc.
