Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence opens a facility in Romania

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Romania held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open its commercial operation in Romania; the company’s Precision Centre in Bucharest.

The ceremony will mark the official transfer of metrology services at the Precision Centre from the Local Distribution Partner, MICRO-TOP Consulting, to Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. Before the transfer, completed in autumn 2016, MICRO-TOP offered a full range of metrology solutions and services, and operated an ISO 17025 accredited calibration laboratory. As a Precision Centre, the new Commercial Operation will continue to operate the laboratory, and offer sales and support for the full portfolio of Hexagon metrology and manufacturing technology. The facility also includes a demonstration centre and the Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Romania headquarters.

“MICRO-TOP has been a valued partner over the years, and I am delighted that we can apply its expertise in this significant step forward for the metrology services business in Romania,” says Gabriela Georgescu, General Manager of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Romania. “We are seeing a very strong demand for quality control solutions, which prompted us to expand this Precision Centre. We also would like to be closer to our customers and strengthen our relationships with them. This facility will help us to do so.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be accompanied by the latest Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence product news and presentations on smart metrology and manufacturing software solutions. Guests include members of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence EMEA Management Team, key industry customers and academic representatives of Romanian Universities.

The team of MICRO-TOP engineers who joined Hexagon bring with them longstanding experience and technical expertise to add value and ensure continuous improvements.
