Scigrip announces European price increase

The supplier of smarter adhesive solutions and structural MMA’s, announces a price increase in response to raw material price escalation, effective from 1st May 2017.

Due to a tightening global supply situation, the key raw materials for Scigrip’s smarter adhesive technologies have increased dramatically in price, by close to 40%. As a result and despite considerable efforts to off set the escalation for the past 6 months, Scigrip will implement a price increase of 8% across its European range of structural adhesives.

Tim Johnson, European Sales & Marketing Manager, commented “Scigrip has a long history of providing price stability to our customers to demonstrate an appreciation of their business, so the decision to implement this increase is not something we do lightly.  However, in order to maintain the highest levels of quality and service that we and our customers expect, it is unavoidable in the face of such a staggering increase in our raw material cost.”

Scigrip can confirm that they have received assurances of on-going security of supply from their partners. Indications from the market are that certain raw materials are in a shortage situation, however Scigrip are well placed to offer continued supply security to their customers despite the commercial pressure.

Johnson noted, “We are clear that the most important thing is to honor our commitments to supply our customers with products vital to their process and prevent this global issue impacting their business.”
