Fibermaq operation recertified under ISO 9001

Audit was conducted by Brazilian subsidiary of DNV/GL

Fibermaq, Brazil’s leading company for composite molding equipment, had its operation recertified under quality standard ISO 9001:2008. A holder of the certificate since 2011, the company was audited by the local subsidiary of DNV/GL, an accredited body headquartered in Norway.

“This was our second complete recertification, even though our company is audited every year,” said Christian de Andrade, Fibermaq director. The company is already working on complying with the updated ISO version (2015).

One peculiar fact that occurred during the certification process was that the DNV/GL auditor was himself being supervised by another auditor that came all the way from the Netherlands. “So when you think about it, we were actually doubly audited,” Andrade joked.

Founded in 1978, in the city of São Paulo, Fibermaq is a pioneer in the manufacture of equipment for molding composites, epoxy and adhesives in general. During this period, more than 5,000 spray-up machines, gelcoat application, RTM injection and filament winding machines, among others, were sold by the company in Brazil and throughout Latin America.
In 2016, Fibermaq was elected for the fifth consecutive time the Top of Mind of the Composites Industry in the category “Equipment” – organized by the Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO), it is the industry’s main award.
