Izobud-Yug (Russia) to get new production line for basalt fiber panels

The entire project for the manufacture of basalt fiber wall panels is estimated at 1.3 billion rubles, comprising over 1 billion which had been spent before this early spring. The spokespeople from the Volgograd region Industry and Trade Committee revealed that the activities on putting into operation this production line had almost been completed.

A launch is scheduled for late 2017. The commissioning activities are now being carried out. The project is implemented with the support of the regional administration as part of the long-term strategy for the development of the Volgograd region.

To motivate composites manufacturers, the region administration has adopted a specialized programme on the industry support up to 2020, the document is published on the official region portal. According to the latest data from the regional register of composites, there are 16 companies operating in the Volgograd region that produce composite materials and products.

Izobud-Yug plant was built with the cooperation of Izobud, a Belarus located company, and has been operating in the city of Volzhskoe since 2013. The primary product produced by the company is a sandwich panel, which is made of basalt fiber wool and polyurethane isocyanurate.
