ALMACO’s Wind Committee holds presentations at the plants of Aeris and Vestas

Experts from the Latin American Composite Materials Association addressed several topics involving the materials used in wind turbines and wind turbine components

Recently, the Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO), through its Wind Committee, held presentations to the employees of Aeris and Vestas, respectively, manufacturers of wind turbines and nacelles. The companies have plants in the cities of Caucaia and Aquiraz (Ceará).

Led by Rafael Regattieri (Owens Corning), Robson Viana (CPIC) and Tiago Fruet (LORD), the presentations at Aeris and Vestas covered topics ranging from the project and design of composite parts for the wind sector to trends in relation to the materials and processes, including computational modeling and repair techniques.

“We had an excellent interaction with the audience and a lot of dynamism in the discussions. The feedbacks were quite positive, so much so that the employees of both Aeris and Vestas showed an interest in attending presentations covering other topics related to composites and the courses available at ALMACO,” said Regattieri.
