The new product is said to offer improved compression strength and better impact performance. The use of higher density layers is said to allow for superior screw retention without additional reinforcement. With a high density upper core layer, ArmaFORM PET MC is said to help reduce the amount of resin intake, whilst the lower density core acts as a shock absorber, reducing the stress locally applied to the panel and leading to improved strain failure.
Similarly to the established ArmaFORM range, the PET MC grade is made of 100% post-consumer PET and is recyclable at the end of its service life. The different layers are bonded by means of a thermo-welding process without the use of adhesive, thus maintaining the product’s 100% recyclability.
ArmaFORM PET MC grade is designed to replace traditional Plywood-XPS and other multi-ply panels used in applications such as load-bearing floor panels in lightweight trucks and trailers, side wall insulation panels in refrigerated trucks, or the body structure in caravans and motorhomes.
