Cobra International form new Cobra Composite Structures Business Unit

Cobra International Co. Ltd. announces the launch of its new Cobra Composite Structures (CCS) business unit dedicated to the efficient manufacturing of large composite structures for the architectural and mass transport markets.

The new Cobra Composite Structures business unit has been created in response to strong customer demand for Cobra’s product development expertise, production efficiency and quality focus that are to be applied to large structural composite parts such as roofs, facades, bridges and large vehicle components for rail, bus and truck applications.  With lightweight advanced composites delivering design freedom and faster installation in architecture as well as providing fuel savings and efficiency gains in transport applications, Cobra is the perfect partner to support customers from initial design concept through to finished composite structure.

The CCS business unit will operate from dedicated facilities at Cobra’s 100,000m2 state of the art facilities in Thailand and will be fully integrated into Cobra’s operations.  Headed up by Paul Scholten, who brings huge commercial and technical experience in all sectors of the composites industry to the new unit, CCS will also work closely with Cobra’s Design and Development team who are continuously delivering innovative production processes, sustainable material combinations and the highest quality decorative finishes.

Cobra prides itself on setting the reference point for quality in every market it supplies and holds both ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/TS 16949:2009 (Automotive) certification.  In addition, the company has recently committed significant research and development investment into fire resistant composites and sustainable materials – two important drivers in Cobra Composite Structures’ key markets.

Cobra Composite Structures are already working on a number of significant orders including the components for a specialist vehicle project to support airport ground operations as well as light bridging solutions and are looking forward to hearing from any new customers about their large composite structure projects.

“The Cobra team is extremely excited about the launch of our new CCS business unit and we’re looking forward to bringing our vision for strong, light and beautiful composites to the large composite structures market.”
