Increasing operational stability of double-density mineral wool products

The researcher performed the scientific substantiation and practical implementation of optimal solutions in the technology of mineral wool mat formation and heat treatment aimed at obtaining double-density thermal insulating mineral products (TIMP) with increased operational stability.

Necessary rock studies of the gabbro and andesite basalt groups for the suitability as the raw material base for the production of continuous basalt fiber (CBF). A unique technique including laboratory melting and pilot-industrial melting at the high-tech equipment.

It was developed a technique to evaluate operational stability of TIMP, conducted experimental studies, obtained the results of experimental studies and provided their evaluation. The researcher established the patterns of variability for TIMP basic qualitative characteristics (density, strength, thermal conductivity), depending on the terms and duration of artificial aging.

It was conducted the parameter optimization for thermal processing of double-density mineral wool mats in order to increase operational stability of finished products. It was estimated the technical-and-economic efficiency of double-density TIMP with high operational stability. It was formulated conclusions and published dissertational studies having scientific novelty and practical significance.
