On basalt materials application as protective means for weapons, military and special equipment

Based on the tests, basalt woven materials show similar results to aramid and hybrid ones but the monolayer costs 9-10 times less compared to the aramid also basalt fabric offers better fire and thermal resistance.

Calculations and experimental data lead to the conclusion that basalt materials application for the protection of ground, naval and air equipment is promising.
