Developers of basalt velomobile named to the list of cleanest techno companies

VeloMetro Mobility, the Canadian developer of basalt velomobile Veemo, was named to Emerging Rocket 2018 list as one of the most promising cleantech companies.

The Emerging Rockets list profiles technology companies from multiple technology sectors located in the Canadian province British Columbia that have great potential for investment and market breakthroughs in the coming year. This year the Emerging Rockets list includes startups from 4 different technology sectors:  Information and Communications Technology, Cleantech, Life Science, Digital Health.

Veemo is enclosed by a light-weight basalt composite body. The vehicle is equipped with solar panels and electric motor, allowing for a range of 100 km (with solar panels – up to 125 km). VeloMetro Mobility finished tests and launched the first Veemo sharing service early this year.

In March a novel velomobile was showcased in the Clean Technology Pavilion at the GLOBE Forum— North America’s largest and longest-running leadership summit for sustainable business. Running alongside this world-leading sustainability conference is the Innovation Expo which showcases 200 cleantech companies from around the world.
