Zünd, a Swiss manufacturer has presented a high performance cutting system Cutter Zünd D3 for processing various materials, including composites.
Due to dual-beam modular system (each can carry up to three different modules), the processing speeds increases twice as fast as a single-beam system.
Zünd cutting systems are geared entirely towards automated digital production. With the help of a new 3D technology, manufacturers can produce more parts in less time, optimizing the equipment capabilities. Processing wide range of materials, including fiber reinforced composites, is determined by modular design of the cutters. The machinery is operated by the ZCC software that can distribute the workload between the two beams and tool carriages as efficiently as possible.
Zünd introduced the system at JEC World in Paris, early March. Two years ago the company featured another cutting solution for composites, including basalt fiber materials – G3 M-1600 with a cutting area of 1,330 by 1,600 mm.
