According to Rosstat (Federal State Statistics Service), the volume of stone wool products, produced by Russia’s companies in the first quarter of 2018, amounted to 7.6 million cubic meters. This is 16.5% higher compared to the same period last year – 6.5 million cubic meters.
The Central Federal District is the leader in mineral wool production: its share is 32% of the total output (2.46 million cubic meters), which is 8.5% higher compared to the same period last year, informs Ogneportal. The Volga region produced 22% of the total output (1.67 million cubic meters). The Ural Federal District produced 16% of the total thermal insulation volume (1.25 million cubic meters).
Popularity of mineral wool solutions is growing even against the lull in the thermal insulation market. Over the last years, Russia has seen new contemporary plants specialized in eco-friendly fireproof basalt fiber insulation. TechnoNICOL commissioned several production facilities in different regions of the country. Russian products find customers not only in the domestic market, they are also in a demand abroad.
