Launched in National Apprenticeship Week in March 2018, the competition was devised to highlight, encourage and reward young talent within the UK automotive refinish industry. Farécla was hugely impressed with the number and high standard of finished bonnets submitted throughout the competition and the skills demonstrated in each entry.
Elliot Campbell (24) of the Figaro Shop (Didcot) was declared the winner live on Farécla’s Facebook on 3 October by AkzoNobel’s Global OEM Technical Programme Manager and Chairman of Judges, George Sneddon, joined by Nationwide Crash Repair’s Daryl Head, silver medallist at the last World Skills in Abu Dhabi, and Tom French, Brand Manager & Graphic Designer at Farécla.
David-John Cousins, Marketing & Sales Assistant at Farécla, explains, “The Farécla stand is a gallery of beautiful exhibits created by our customers (including The Cambridge Drum Company and Davida Helmets), all of them polished with Farécla products, so Elliot’s bonnet is a perfect addition to the collection – representing Farécla’s notable history within the automotive sector, as well as its support for young people entering the industry.”
The competition judges will be presenting Campbell with a cheque for £1000, a Farécla polishing machine and a complete set of Farécla polishes including the new Farécla G360 Super Fast System.
Farécla will exhibit on Stand Q145 at Advanced Engineering 2018 on 31 October-1 November in Birmingham, UK.
