Tods Aerospace wins contract to design and manufacture radomes for SST Flugtechnik

Tods Aerospace, a Unitech Aerospace company and specialist in advanced composite materials technologies, announces that it wins a contract to design, manufacture and supply four new radomes for SST Flugtechnik in Germany.

The radomes are part of equipment to be fit on four aircraft being supplied to the Ministry of the Interior of Angola in order to improve the border patrol and maritime patrol capabilities.

“We are very happy to have been selected by SST Flugtechnik to partner with them in this important programme of work that will provide a significant upgrade for the people of Angola,”  said Rob Ludford, Vice President and Managing Director of Tods Aerospace.

“Our ability to provide a fully project managed design and manufacturing solution in support of the aircraft upgrade enabled us to secure this prestigious statement of work.”

The Tods Engineering team have taken the requirement specifications and will be carrying out a full design activity including material selection, radio frequency (RF) tuning and mechanical design. The project will be managed in line with the Tods programme management process and will culminate with the delivery of four radomes during 2019.
