The technical tests for resistance to the effects of gravel on the LARTE Design product.

Today, as part of our ongoing quality control process, we will test several samples for resistance to the effects of gravel on the paintwork.

The main activity of Global Basalt Engineering LLC is creation of effective productions on release of continuous basalt fiber (СBF) with technologies of the last generation and composites on the basis of СBF (Basalt Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Composites as BFRP).

For the purposes of these tests, we have chosen six types different materials:

  • Basalt fiber
  • Carbon fiber
  • Two Larte Design composites using two different types of resin
  • Polypropylene – the material from which regular bumpers are made
  • And, finally, ABS plastic

The tests will be carried out in two separate stages using gravel impact angles of 45 degrees and 90 degrees.

All material samples, with the exception of carbon fiber, are prepared for finishing using the same processes for priming and painting, and for the drying process as well. Carbon fiber samples are coated with varnish and special primer.
