The module will be co-convened with other specialists such as adjunct professor Thiago Pontin Tancredi (PhD in naval and oceanic Engineering at Universidade de São Paulo and École Centrale de Nantes) and senior professor Hazim Ali Al-Qureishi (PhD in Mechanical Engineering at University of Birmingham).
Jorge is a specialist in composite structural analysis and has an extensive curriculum of projects in various fields of engineering. The trio will face the challenge of transmitting some of their vast experience, through case-studies that merge theory with the practice of composite materials.
Open to 20 students, and with a long waiting list, the module will run for one semester and will cover topics relating to macro and micromechanics of composite materials applied to marine industry. The module offers an opportunity for students to benefit from the experience of the instructors, learning the concepts and techniques to boost their projects, and impact a new generation of engineers that may develop solutions in various fields.
