Roboze, an Italian-American manufacturer of 3D printers for materials has started the production of valves used in the breathing helmets that helps Covid-19 patients, intended for hospitals in Italy and wherever there is a request.

The news exploded on the web just a few days ago following the request for help from some Italian hospitals to find valves for respirators. The appeal started a solidarity race from all over Italy involving privates and companies. 

From that moment on, the 3D printing community has activated itself by unleashing a real race for solidarity and is now moving relentlessly to make its contribution thanks to open source.

Roboze, a specialist in 3D printing with high performance polymers and has served the biggest players of the manufacturing industry in sectors such as aerospace, motorsport, oil & gas.

The company immediately made its machines and team available to Italian healthcare organizations to contrast the shortage of spare parts during the fight against Covid-19.

In a few hours hundreds of valves were printed through the Roboze 3D Parts division and will be supplied free of charge for the Covid-19 patients breathing helmets.

However, the company commitment does not stop here. In fact, the company will continue the production having accepted other requests from other Italian hospitals and around the world. 

With the support of Dallara Automobili, a well known Italian manufacturer of racing cars and supplier of cars at the IndyCar, Indy Lights, F2, Formula E and other chaampionships, Roboze is also at the forefront for the production of hospital C-PAP masks for Sub-intensive therapy, with the collaboration of Isinnova, the company that had the idea of transforming Decathlon diving masks into respirators for corona virus patients.

In the next few days, Roboze 3D printers will respond to this request in a very short time by taking advantage of the powerful production capacity of the network of Roboze 3D Parts centers.

3D printing allows to quickly and faithfully reproduce the geometries of 3D models created using modeling software. It is possible to reproduce sharp edges and obtain very complex shapes without increasing costs or execution times.

This mobilization of additive manufacturing will surely have a follow up when this crisis will be over, and the industry will probably see a revival. New technologies such as additive manufacturing will increasingly support companies’ ability to resist sudden changes.
