After more than two years of preparation, obviously the team disappointment of not being able to race in front of Cagliari headquarters was great. Despite this, the team continues preparation in view of the challenges for the 36th America’s Cup.

Waiting for the situation to return to normal as soon as possible, the base will remain in Cagliari where the team will continue the preparation, until the departure for Auckland (NZ), where the competition program will resume from 17 to 20 December, with the last test of the America’s Cup World Series and the Christmas Race, followed by the PRADA Cup – Challenger selection regattas – from 15 January to 22 February 2021 and the final match of the 36th America’s Cup presented by PRADA, from 6 to 15 March 2021.

The emergency situation prompted the team to send the message: “Challengers, Together”, which represents the fundamental concept of the challenge and the strength of the group. These are the values of the team that, even in this difficult moment, support him in the fight for the final goal.

At this moment the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team wishes to express its closeness to all those who with great commitment and courage are at the forefront of this difficult battle every day.

The team base has been in Cagliari for two years and now everyone feels part of the city. For this reason, the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team has decided to help Cagliari hospitals that fight against Covid19.

When the city mayor, Paolo Truzzu, contacted the team personally with a request from the local Hospital, the reaction was to build over 100 face shields for doctors and staff, who for days have been caring for and assisting Covid-19 patients in the local hospitals. With spirit of collaboration, the whole team went to work, from the shore team who built the shields, to the office staff who oversaw the logistic arrangements. This was a message of gratitude from the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team to those who are giving their absolute all every day to overcome this difficult challenge.
