First postgraduate online course in composites and polymers in São Paulo, Brazil to start

The first postgraduate course in composites and polymers in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, will begin on 08/08. Due to social isolation, classes will be online throughout this year and in person from 2021. In all, the course will have 360 hours.

As a result of the partnership between the Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO) and the Institute of Technological Research (IPT), the postgraduate course in composites and polymers is aimed at professionals in the areas of engineering, architecture, design and administration, in addition to people interested in deepening their knowledge in the area.

Erika Bernardino Aprá, president of ALMACO, said:

“Since 2012, when we launched the postgraduate course, we had the objective of bringing it to São Paulo, the largest composites market in the country. Now, with the support of IPT, we have managed to make this project possible”

To date, the course has been promoted in the cities of Curitiba, Caxias do Sul and Joinville, with around one hundred students trained.

The postgraduate faculty in São Paulo includes researchers linked to the IPT and professionals with extensive experience in composites, many of them with outstanding performance in the main companies in the sector.

The president of ALMACO observed:

“This whole experience will be very enriching during the students’ learning process.”

In 2021, classes will be held at IPT’s headquarters and at the Technological Center for Composites (CETECOM), both at Cidade Universitária (USP), in São Paulo, as well as at IPT’s Light Structures Center, in São José dos Campos.
