Bushing

A bushing is a tool with cone-shaped holes that is used to produce fibers of different diameters, including thin and super-thin ones by means of pushing and extruding melted material (plastic, glass, basalt) through the holes. Glass fibers and basalt fibers are produced by this method.

Typically, the brushing is made from high strength stainless steel and hard alloys, which are adhesive and corrosion resistant (e.g., nickel or platinum-rhodium alloys).
